Geodata Examples

This page lists all geodata examples that are included in the Tinman 3D SDK.

You can browse and download all datasets here: http://download.tinman3d.com.

Each example includes:

The Demo Application will stream raster datasets from their online URLs, if they cannot be found locally. To run in offline mode, please download the datasets and put them into the corresponding SDK path:

Due to the size of the dataset files, we recommend to use a download manager that can handle broken connections (for example GetRight).

Alternatively, you can use the  Workshop Application to bulk download all raster datasets, by running the following script target:

To use the Geodata Processor for bulk downloading, please run this batch file:

"$(SDK_DIR)/src.twp/download_bulk.cmd

In any case, please make sure to check the MD5 checksums of each downloaded dataset (for example using Total Commander).

Some geodata examples require that GDAL is installed (version 1.11. or newer).

Commercial

Here you will find examples for high-quality commercial geodata.

Typically, commercial geodata is properly georeferenced and is delivered in handy pieces.

Airbus Defence & Space

Elevation1 - "Highly Precise Altimetric Information"

WorldDEM - "The New Standard of Global Elevation Models"

This geodata is nicely wrapped in GeoTIFFs, which can be imported on-the-fly.

The PlanetSAT 15 product is a direct high-quality replacement for the free Landsat7 imagery (see below).

The PlanetDEM 30 Plus product is a direct high-quality replacement for the free ASTER GDEM 2 (see below).
